How Verification Works

Every Aura member is verified. Here is how the process works and why it matters.

The 90-second verification

1. Take a live selfie in the app (not from your camera roll).
2. Photograph the front of a government-issued ID.
3. Our verification service matches the two and confirms your identity.

What we keep

We keep a "verified" flag on your account. We do not keep your ID image or the selfie after verification is complete.

Additional badges

Members can request additional verification: Verified Veteran (DD-214), Verified Nurse, Verified Physician, and others. Reviewed privately.
